World War I:
On June 18, 1914, Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot dead by a Serb in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia. Austria-Hungary blamed Serbia for the genocide and declared war on Serbia on 28 July of that year. Friendly countries of both countries gradually intervened in this war.
